I’m sure many of you has been a friends with this guy on Facebook but today, you gonna make itbecause Bill Gates planning to quit. Ops, not planning but already quit.
Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates has stopped using the Web site Facebook, the most damning indictment in a week full of bad press for social-networking technology.
Social-networking Web sites, which help people share and find information about one another, were supposed to change the way people use the Internet and the way we work. But lately, all we’re hearing about are the problems.
Workers who created profiles on Facebook are horrified to find out they can’t be erased, the New York Times reports. Even if you deactivate your account, Facebook still keeps a copy of all the information you ever posted. And, the Times reports, it’s still possible to contact people through deleted Facebook pages.

gmail The same method of storing documents on Yahoo! can also be used on Gmail as well. In fact, the set up is even easier. For this purpose, I like Gmail a lot better because of their use of labels instead of folders. One email containing a stored document could be slapped with multiple labels, making the document easier to find in a search. Here are the adjustments needed to make Gmail a document storage site (at least until they bring the fabled Gdrive online).
You’ll need:
* A Gmail account - Free and easy.
* A label called, “Docs” - Click on “Settings” and, on the next screen, click on “Labels”. Scroll to the bottom and create the new label.
* Now, click on “Filters” and scroll to the bottom of the page and create a new filter called, “Docs”. Put an email address in the “To:” field for your documents that uses the “plus” feature that Gmail has and is dedicated to storing documents. The form is myname+docs@gmail.com. Similar to the AddressGuard in Yahoo, it needs no set up; you simply use it. In Gmail, any word that is appended to your Gmail screen name with a plus sign goes into your inbox without any set up required. Click on “Next Step”. In the check boxes, check the following: “Skip the Inbox”, “Mark as Read”, and “Apply the label:”. In the drop down field, choose your “Docs” label that you made in the previous step.
* Finally, click on “Create Filter”.

Yahoo! Mail has long been my email provider of choice. However, recently, I’ve been using it for more than its intended purpose of email. With Yahoo! now offering unlimited storage space, it has opened up a wide range of possibilities when it comes to uses. For example, I’ve begun to use it to archive all of my important documents, much like a filing cabinet. Having a back up document online gives me a great comfort that I’ll always have what I need no matter what happens to my original document.
To make this work, one needs several things:
* A Yahoo! email account -Their free, but since I use Yahoo! email at work and for my own business, I’ve upgraded to Mail Plus to eliminate the ads that appear as taglines at the bottom of individual emails on the free account.
* An email folder labeled “Docs” - I prefer tags, as folders are pretty one-dimensional, but, alas, folders are what we’re given with which to work. On the left sidebar, click on the “add” link beside “My Folders” and create the folder. Label it “Docs”
* A Yahoo! AddressGuard disposable address - One of the slickest things Yahoo has provided is the disposable address. Designed to thwart web sites that ask you for an email address and then flood it with Bacn, we exploit it to serve a different purpose. It takes the form of a base name (it never changes) and a keyword (an extra word of your choosing) separated by a hyphen. The result looks like this: basename-keyword@yahoo.com (Don’t try clicking on the link to the left, your email ain’t going anywhere!). The concept is simple: Create a disposable address to register for things online. When the spam (or Bacn) begins to flood your email inbox, you simply kill the disposable address and the spam stops. Your original Yahoo! email address is protected and still available to use for personal emailing. You then create another disposable address and begin the process all over. Sweet, huh?

What is
ControlC? It’s pretty simple actually. Have you ever copied something on a webpage or in an email that you later needed to look at again but couldn’t remember where you saw it?
Have you ever copied a link to a webpage and couldn’t for the life of you remember the link later on?
ControlC fixes that. Anytime you copy textual content, ControlC will upload that text to our server to store under your account. When the text is uploaded, it is encrypted using your password as the key (which we will never have access to). When you need to retrieve the text, or would like to share it with other users, you can login to your account and make the items public, or simply review them for your own needs.
You can search other user’s copied links and text to find other people that share the same interests as you. You can make friendship relationships with other users, and star items of interest to make finding them again easy. You are encouraged to social interact with other users on our site - you will be surprised what you can find when you do!
History
ControlC is still young. Launched in early 2008, we have a ton of ideas to add to the site. For now enjoy what we have to offer, and please use our forums to provide feedback about the site and let us know what you want to see added!
